Obituary

Marion (Langowski) Stinchfield, 91, went home to her Heavenly Father on Holy Thursday, April 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 10, 1934 in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Kaczmarczyk) Langowski. She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Norman J. Stinchfield, her three daughters, Paula Stinchfield-Davis of Leicester, MA; Lois Rossik of Worcester, MA; and Susan Stinchfield-Collette, her caregiver, of Worcester, MA; and a son in law, Russell Collette of Worcester, MA. Marion was an adoring Babchi, leaving behind five cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Craig Kenyon, Justin and Ashley Davis, Matthew and Rachel Collette, Kayla Collette, and Lydia Rossik, and five treasured great grandchildren, Connor and Harlan Saltus, Claire and Avery Davis, and Tyler Collette, as well as many other loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She has been reunited in Heaven with her brother, John Paul Langowski; her half sister, Janice Lebel; her half brother, Joseph Paika; and a niece, MaryJane (Paika) McNally.

Marion graduated from Commerce High School in 1952. Following graduation, she worked for Singer Sewing Company as an established seamstress, creating wedding dresses, upholstering, and designing clothes for family and friends. In addition to sewing, she also enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting, and gardening. She loved traveling and spending time with her best and dearest friend, Violet Bernier. Marion dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was a homemaker who always placed the needs of others before her own, and raised her children with the love and care she brought forth in her everyday life. She was the happiest when she was with her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Later in life, Marion worked as a teachers aide for the Worcester Public School system for over 10 years employed at both Sullivan Middle School and Worcester East Middle School. She also worked as a receptionist at St. Paul’s Cathedral under Monsignor James Mongelluzzo. Marion was a kind, gentle, and loving soul. Her heart was as big as her home, welcoming friends and family alike. Marion was a devoted servant of Christ, committed to her catholic faith as a lifetime member of Our Lady of Czestochowa and Our Lady of Lourdes parishes. Throughout her courageous battle with cancer, Marion showed extraordinary strength, fortitude, and bravery. She fought not only for herself, but for the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in all she has influenced: kindness, resilience, and unwavering support for family. Marion will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who love her.

A memorial mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 11, at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester, MA, 01604. We rejoice with Marion in the promise of eternal life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance of Central MA in memoriam.
