
Marcia M. Ciaramello, 84, of Smithfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Richard M. Ciaramello. They had been married for 65 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Quattrucci) Gliottone. She had lived in Smithfield for 31 years and had previously lived in Johnston, Alexandria, Virginia and Honolulu, Hawaii.
Marcia had worked as a bookkeeper for M&J Supply in Providence, for 16 years before retiring. She had also worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Arctic Lumber Company in West Warwick, The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, Historic home of George Washington in Alexandria, Virginia, and Dolly Parton’s Dockside Plantation and The Original Roy’s in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii.
Marcia was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She exuded great charm, elegance, beauty, intelligence, friendliness, and warmth to all who knew and loved her. Marcia was very smart with a sharp wit and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was the heart and soul of her family. Marcia was selfless to a fault; always putting the needs of her family and loved ones first. She enjoyed spending time visiting and conversing with family and friends, cooking, dancing, and taking long walks on a warm evening. Marcia also loved animals, watching movies, sports, attending plays and musical performances, solving word puzzles, and was an avid reader. She was a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Marcia will be forever missed and her endearing memory will be truly cherished by her loving family and friends.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Richard M. Ciaramello, Jr., Esq., of Alexandria, Virginia, her daughter, Julie B. Ciaramello and her granddaughter, Bellamie R. Russo of Smithfield, her sister, Arleen Melone of Johnston, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Melissa M. Ciaramello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. A private Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
