Judy Shockley of Ventura County, California, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.
Judy was a proud tribal member of the Chickasaw Nation, carrying her heritage with strength and pride throughout her life. She was a talented hairdresser and artist who brought creativity and warmth into everything she did. A devoted supporter of Bill Wilson’s work, Judy was also a passionate speaker who touched many lives through her words, strength, and personal journey. She found great purpose in supporting others on their journey to sobriety, often speaking about the power and hope found in “a room full of miracles,” a phrase that was deeply meaningful to her.
A longtime resident of Ventura County, Judy was known for her generous spirit, resilience, and her remarkable ability to connect deeply with others. She had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and truly valued.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Lee Shockley Sr., three daughters, whom she loved dearly: Tanya Nunez, Teresa Burchett, and Tracy Montanez. She cherished her family above all else and leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, compassion, and inspiration.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
