Gerald F. Deady, 71, of Chicopee Falls, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Gerald S. Deady and Dorothy F. (Roberts) Deady of Chicopee Falls. He leaves behind his daughter, Lauren Jones of Branford, CT, and his beloved partner of many years, MaryJane Santamaria of Chicopee. He is survived by his sister, Rosalia A. Deady of Salisbury, MA and his brother John G. Deady (Jacqueline) of Easthampton, MA; his nieces, Angela Carroll, Laura Ziomek, Gail Deady, and Kathleen Aldrich; his nephew, Christopher Hillios; his great nieces, Seneca Hillios, Nora Aldrich, and Yvette Deady-Pawlaczyk; his great nephew, Cameron Ziomek; and dozens of Deady cousins and extended family. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandson. Gerald grew up on Muzzy Street in Chicopee Falls and graduated from Chicopee High School. Following a career as a house builder in Seattle, WA, Hawaii, and locally, Gerald worked for 20 years at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department retiring in 2013 as an Industrial Supervisor where he worked side by side with the residents to beautify Hampden County. He had a lifelong love of golf and was an avid sports fan. He played hockey with local teams until he was 44. Gerald loved animals and had a string of faithful canine companions, Nellie being his latest. When “G” arrived, a good time was never far behind. He had a story to tell for every conversation. His love for his Irish heritage and music was second to none. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. At the family’s request there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life is planned for the future.
