
Bobby Lindberg Harvell, affectionally known as "Papa or BooBoo", 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Legacy Village in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 5 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jamie Baggett and Pastor Javaris Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
Mr. Harvell was born December 3, 1949, in Pavo, Georgia, to the late Jack Lindberg and Mary Ellen Bufford Harvell. He was a graduate of Thomasville High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army. His accolades include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Marksman (M-14) and Expert (M-16). He received 2 Overseas Service Bars each representing 6 month increments in a designated combat zone. Mr. Harvell was also awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Mr. Harvell retired after 30 years from Gilman Building Products as a Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoyed painting and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Harvell was a longtime member of the Church of God.
He is survived by his wife; Lynnette Pearce Harvell; daughters and their spouses: Lisa Dorough (Shannon) of Fitzgerald and Brandy Rutherford (Chip) of Tifton; a daughter in law, Laura Harvell Fletcher of Douglas; grandchildren: Skylar Dorough Martin (Cain), Shyann Dorough, Blaise Rutherford (Brighton Thornton), Blaire Rutherford and Anslie Harvell; a great grand daughter; Jemma Martin; sisters: Mary Carter (Charles) and Virginia Harvell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Scott Harvell and a brother, Donald Roy Harvell.
