Maria Cristina Cordero (Tina, as we lovingly called her) of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on March 28, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
She was born in Comerío, Puerto Rico, and carried with her a deep love for her culture, her family, and her faith throughout her life. Maria Cristina was a woman of great strength, compassion, and grace. She had a nurturing spirit and found joy in caring for others, always putting her family first. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and welcome to all.
Maria was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a lunch mother and teacher’s aide at Dimock Head Start, where she touched the lives of many children. She had a deep and genuine love for children, and her kindness and patience made a lasting impact on those she cared for.
She will also be remembered for her delicious native Puerto Rican cooking, which brought family and friends together and created lasting memories around her table.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle heart, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought encouragement, and her faith was an inspiration to many.
She was the devoted wife of 59 years to Pedro Roberto Cordero. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Jose A. Cordero and his wife Ana Cordero, Hilda M. Cordero, and Marisol Cordero.
She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Juan Daniel Cordero, Jose Adrian Maldonado, Enid Rebeca Cordero, Gabriel Jose Cordero, Iris Elena Alvarado, and David Antonio Alvarado, and a beloved great-grandmother to Berlin Torello and
Cataleya Maldonado, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Maria Cristina leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at Crossroads Worship Center in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St.
Michael’s Cemetery in Roslindale.

Maria Cristina Cordero (Tina como le llamábamos de cariño) de Boston, Massachusetts, falleció en paz, rodeada del amor de su familia, el 28 de Marzo de 2026 en el Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Nació en Comerío, Puerto Rico, y a lo largo de su vida llevó consigo un profundo amor por su cultura, su familia y su fe. Maria fue una mujer de gran fortaleza, compasión y gracia. Tenía un espíritu noble y encontraba alegría en cuidar de los
demás, siempre poniendo a su familia en primer lugar. Su hogar fue un lugar de amor, calidez y bienvenida para todos.
Maria fue una dedicada ama de casa y también trabajó como asistente en el comedor escolar y ayudante de maestra en Dimock Head Start, donde impactó la vida de muchos niños. Tenía un amor genuino y profundo por los niños, y su paciencia y bondad dejaron una huella imborrable en quienes tuvo el privilegio de cuidar.
También será recordada por su deliciosa comida típica puertorriqueña, que reunía a familiares y amigos y creaba recuerdos inolvidables alrededor de su mesa.
Será recordada por su bondad, su corazón noble y su inquebrantable devoción hacia sus seres queridos. Su presencia brindaba consuelo, sus palabras daban ánimo y su fe fue inspiración para muchos.
Fue la amada esposa durante 59 años de Pedro Roberto Cordero. Fue una madre amorosa y dedicada de Jose A. Cordero y su esposa Ana Cordero, Hilda M Cordero y Marisol Cordero.
Fue una orgullosa y querida abuela de Juan Daniel Cordero, Jose Adrian Maldonado, Enid Rebeca Cordero, Gabriel Jose Cordero, Iris Elena Alvarado y David Antonio Alvarado; y una adorada bisabuela de Berlin Torello y Cataleya Maldonado, quienes le brindaron inmensa alegría y orgullo.
Maria Cristina deja un hermoso legado de amor, fe y familia que vivirá por siempre en todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.
Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo el Sábado 11 de abril en Crossroads Worship Center en Weymouth, Massachusetts. La velación será de 10:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m., seguida por un servicio de celebración de vida a las 12:00 p.m. El sepelio se realizará a continuación en el Cementerio St. Michael en Roslindale.
