Emile Donat Adam, 82, of Southwick Drive, Lincoln, formerly of Greenville Avenue, Johnston, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre. He was the beloved husband of Mary J. (Dixon) Adam.
Born in Manville, Lincoln, he was a son of the late Leo O. and Yvonne (Courtemanche) Adam. Emile had lived in Johnston until moving to Lincoln four years ago.
Emile graduated from Pawtucket Vocational High school in 1962. He served in the army during the Vietnam era and went on to work for many years as an autobody technician, first at Pierce Chevrolet and later at J&J Auto, until his retirement.
Emile was a person of deep and abiding faith in Jesus. He was an active member of the Church of the Cross in Smithfield, where he served faithfully for many years. His greatest joy was singing in the choir.
Emile enjoyed spending time outdoors, fly fishing and bass fishing at Stump Pond from his kayak. He also enjoyed hunting which he described as “a nice walk in the woods,” especially when no deer were in sight.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: David Adam and his wife, Lorraine of Johnston, Danny Adam and Sue of Johnston, Keri Seals and her husband, Nicholas of Riverside, Randall McFarland of Germany, his grandchildren: Anna, Tyler, Jericho, Brin, Garret and Paul, his sisters: Lucille Krupski and her husband, Michael and Celine Glanville, his extended family members including his in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Claire Arruda and Eugene Adam.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service and burial. His funeral service will be held Friday, April 10th at 10am in Church of the Cross, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter.
