Obituary

It is with great sadness, and deep love, that I announce the passing of my Beautiful Sister, Aunt, and Great Aunt, Francis "Juanita" Brown on the morning of February 15th, 2026. She was ninety two (92) years old.

Born in Huntsville Alabama on June 8th, 1933, Juanita was the oldest of six children. At the age of 21 years old, she married Mr. Harold Brown in Brockton Mass. in 1954.

Juanita was a trained nurse and served the community for many years. She was an extraordinary woman of strong character, with a courageous mindset, and a beautiful spirit that connected to almost everyone she met. She later moved from Brockton to Boston, in her late 20's, where she lived for the rest of her days.

While living in Boston, she was employed at the Olympia Flower Store, located on Washington St. near Dudley Station, where she worked until the late 1970's. Her creativity was always on full display creating very intricate flower arrangements for her clientele.

Most importantly, family was at the heart of her life. She fiercely loved and cherished her Brothers, many of whom lived with her from time to time. Her unconditional love and light is woven throughout the entire family. Her love was protective, yet tender, endlessly giving, solid, and ever present.
She is survived by her youngest Brother; Thomas M Johnson of Los Angeles California.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and Great nieces and Great Nephews, living in various States all over the U.S.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Ora D. Johnson, her Father, Oscar Johnson, her siblings; Lawrence Everett Johnson (Fats), Johnny Lester Johnsson, (Buck Buck), Richard Floyd Johnson, (Poochie), Wayne Gregory Hilliard, (Big Red), her Aunt Charlotte, and her Uncle Ben.

Francis Juanita Brown leaves behind a legacy of strength, character, creativity, love, a reminder to celebrate life, and to notice the beauty that surrounds us every day.
