BEDFORD — Patricia Ann (Foley) Weeks, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Benchmark at Bedford Falls in Bedford, NH, surrounded by family.
Pat was born on May 28, 1938, in Rumford, ME, to the late Frank W. and Barbara L. (Langley) Foley. She spent her early years in South Portland, ME, before her family moved to Laconia, NH, where she graduated from Laconia High School in 1956. She went on to earn her dental hygiene degree from Forsyth Dental School. She later worked as a dental hygienist for the State of New Hampshire, providing teeth cleaning care to elementary school students in Laconia, Pittsfield, and Barnstead.
While working summers scooping ice cream at the original Weeks Restaurant in Laconia, Pat met her future husband, Jack Weeks. Knowing she had met someone special, she would occasionally “mis-make” customer’s sundae orders providing an excuse to bring them out back to share with him while he worked in the milk plant. The two were married at St. Joseph’s Church shortly after her graduation in 1958 and began building a life together in Laconia, quickly growing their family with four children in their first five years of marriage.
Pat devoted herself to her family and home while supporting Jack throughout his business career. She had a passion for cooking - especially baking - and took great joy in sharing it with others. She was known for her cookies, brownies, muffins, and cakes, made from recipes she collected over the years. During the holidays, she baked hundreds of decoratively frosted cookies, sharing trays of festive treats with family, friends and neighbors. Her children’s and grandchildren’s friends knew they were always in for a treat when visiting her home.
Pat was an accomplished skier and tennis player whose competitive spirit stayed with her throughout her life. She continued playing tennis well into her later years, even joining a men’s doubles league to match the level of competition she enjoyed. She shared her love of sports with her children, enthusiastically supporting their athletic pursuits. She could often be found on the sidelines at Laconia High School, cheering on girls’ basketball and field hockey games, football matchups, ski races, and even traveling to Maine for wrestling meets. In later years, her three grandsons could always count on “Nana” to be there to cheer them on - whether at a baseball game, ski race, tennis match, or soccer game. With a two-fingered whistle louder than anyone else in the crowd, she made sure her support was always heard in celebration of a great play.
Pat and Jack moved to Concord in 1982 to be closer to his business after their children had moved on from their Laconia home. While there, they established deep roots in the community. In the mid-1980s they discovered Marco Island and spent many happy winters at their condo there, forming lasting friendships and welcoming visits from family and friends. Pat especially enjoyed long walks on the beach and, of course, playing tennis. They also maintained a home on Lake Winnisquam in Laconia, where summers were filled with family, friends, good food, water activities and laughter - often accompanied by Pat cheering on the biggest splash off the trampoline raft. Together, Pat and Jack also shared a love of travel and enjoyed many memorable trips to destinations around the world.
She volunteered with the American Red Cross for over 30 years, was an active member of the Concord YMCA, the U.S. Tennis Association, and served on the University of New Hampshire President’s Council. She and Jack were longtime members of the Congregational Church in Laconia and later South Church in Concord.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Sheryl A. Weeks and her husband, Stephen Bobotas, of Laconia, NH, and Jane E. Weeks of Salem, MA; her sons, John F. Weeks III and his wife, Gail, of Bedford, NH, and Michael A. Weeks of Boscawen, NH; her grandchildren, Andrew M. Weeks and his wife, Caroline, Matthew P. Weeks and his fiancée, Eliza Dunne, and Timothy J. Weeks; her great-grandson, Lee F. Weeks; her sister, Maureen Little; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Weeks, in 2023, and her brother, Frank W. “Butch” Foley, Jr., and his wife, Joyce K. Foley.
Pat’s kindness, enthusiasm, and generosity touched many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her -her memory living on in warm kitchens, full bellies, and whistles ringing out from the sidelines.
