In Loving Memory of Steven B. Haney
A Loving Husband & Father, Dedicated Firefighter and Cherished Friend

Steven B. Haney, age 82, of Woburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026,
surrounded by his beloved family. He was the devoted husband to Donna (Cogan) Haney in
which they shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, where
they raised their three children, Jill, Jarrod, and Robyn. Steve was a man whose greatest joy was found in the company of those he loved.

Steve was the cherished son of the late Frank and Mildred (Monahan) Haney. He was the second oldest of seven siblings and grew up in a home filled with laughter, hard work, and love. Raised and educated in Woburn, he attended St. Charles Elementary School and graduated with the class of 1961 from Woburn High School, making lifelong friends and memories along the way.

Steve`s dedication to service began at the DPW, and in December 1971, Steve answered the call as a firefighter for the City of Woburn. He embraced the responsibility and camaraderie of the job, becoming a proud member of Firefighter Local 971. He was a proud firefighter who served the city of Woburn for 32 years with unwavering dedication and courage. Steve was a man with a remarkable work ethic. Outside of his work at the fire station, he took pride in painting and wallpapering homes. His skills, attention to detail, and determination were admired by many. He also worked for many years for the McLaughlin Funeral Home assisting with services.

Steve`s greatest joy was his family. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren, and their biggest supporter in academics and sports. He treasured family dinners, fishing trips, a nice cup of hot coffee, and the opportunity to share his favorite jokes. His legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and the simple pleasures of life. Steve also took great pride in keeping his home in immaculate condition and meticulously caring for his yard.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, his children, grandchildren, siblings, and many dear friends as well as his beloved, faithful dog, Toby.

He was predeceased by family members whose memories he carried in his heart every day.
Steve`s warmth, humor and spirit will live on in all who knew him.
