
CHICOPEE – Kazuko (Takizawa) Lewis, 89, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She Passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Tokyo, Japan on September 10, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Gosuke and Tsugi (Narushima) Takizawa. She was raised and educated in Japan and settled in Chicopee in 1962 where she lived the remainder of her life. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. She especially enjoyed walking around her neighborhood and chatting with friends. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Patrick B. Lewis who was Called Home on April 16, 1982. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Lorenda Lewis-Carmen and her husband, Paul Carmen, Thomas Lewis, and Richard Lewis, all of Chicopee; her two dear sisters, Sachiko Morikawa and Mitsue Suzuki and her husband, Takashi, all of Japan; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends in the United States and Japan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Takeish Takizawa and Tadashi Narushima; and her dear brother-in-law, Chuyu Morikawa. Her family would like to thank Kazuko’s niece, Hikaru Suzuki and Hikaru’s daughter, Ayumi, for their loving care and companionship for Kazuko. Her funeral services are private and burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee. There are no visiting hours.
