Obituary

Mary Anne [Croft] Osborne passed away on March 16, 2026, surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, excellence, and deep devotion to her family.

Mary Anne was a trailblazer in the best sense. After attending Roycemore School in Evanston, Illinois, she earned academic honors at Mount Holyoke College and went on to complete the Radcliffe Management Training Program, part of a pioneering group of women who attended the year before Harvard Business School officially opened its doors to women. She worked in finance at Loomis Sayles before finding her stride in real estate — starting with Century 21, where she became one of the top fifteen brokers in the country, and eventually founding her own firm, Prime Properties, in Westwood. She brought the same determination and high standards to everything she took on.

Mary Anne was so much more than her professional life. She taught Nantucket basket weaving, loved a good game of Canasta, and enjoyed reading and watching the latest shows and movies — always eager to discuss them with friends and loved ones. She gave generously of her time, volunteering with Family Services of Dedham, the New England Home for Little Wanderers, the Dedham Exchange, and the Dedham Historical Society to name just a few. Curious, resilient, and committed to remaining engaged, relevant, and doing things well, she left her mark in more ways than one.

Most of all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love made a deep and lasting difference in the lives of those closest to her. She was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Osborne, who preceded her in death in February 2007, and with whom she built a life and a family she treasured.

She is survived by her children, Timothy K. Osborne and his wife Laura [Van Brunt] of Livingston, NJ; Robert A. Osborne of Crozet, VA; and Julia Osborne Porrazzo and her husband Michael of Greensboro, VT and MA; her grandchildren Casey, Matthew, and William Osborne and Alexandra, Emma, and Caitlin Porrazzo; and beloved nieces, nephews, and partners of loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 3:00 PM at the First Church and Parish in Dedham, 670 High St., Dedham. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary Anne may be made to the Dedham Historical Society.
