Amber D. McMahon, 75, of Derry, NH, passed away Sunday March 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester, NH. She was born on September 5, 1950, in Woburn, MA, a daughter of the late Albert and Lorraine (Boutwell) Silva. Amber worked as a cook for the Derry head start program for many years. Amber also worked at Burgundy’s in Londonderry/Derry.
Amber was an extraordinary woman, kind, loving, and selfless. She raised all four of her children and fostered other children with unwavering dedication and love, and she played a vital role in helping to raise her grandchildren as well. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, putting others before herself whenever she could. Her generosity and warmth touched the lives of everyone around her.
She is survived by her daughters, Francesca Jarvis and husband Christopher Jarvis of Derry and Amanda Cross of Manchester; three sons, Nicholas McMahon and wife Megan McMahon of Manchester, Dondi McMahon of Allenstown, NH, and Marc McMahon and his wife Carolyn McMahon of Hooksett, NH; six grandchildren, Dylan Jarvis, Haley Jarvis, Warren McMahon, Caleb Nealon, Kaylee Nealon and Sierra Dyment; two great grandchildren, Luka Jarvis and Christopher Jarvis; her sister, Judith Muise, her brother the late Francis Silva, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by the father of her children, James R. McMahon.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 5 - 7 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
