
Cynthia Kay Hester Thompson, 68, of Enigma passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A private funeral will be held for Ms. Thompson at a later date.
Ms. Thompson was born on January 25, 1958, in Plant City, Florida, to the late Robert “Buddy” Hester and Vercie Howell Hester. She dedicated many years of her life working as a yarn spinner for Avondale Mills before retiring. She had a true passion for gardening and took great pride in her beautiful flowers and yard. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandkids, and found great joy in spending time with them. She also cherished her beloved dog, Luna. In addition to her parents, Ms. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Thompson, who passed in 2019.
Ms. Thompson is survived by two sons; Johnny Wayne Lewis (Diane) of Moultrie, Tim Taylor (Angela) of Tifton, two daughters; “Angie” Martin (Jay) of Enigma, Tonya Michelle Greene (Shaun) also of Moultrie, one sister; Diane Goff of Albany, seven grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Thompson will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the beauty she brought to those around her with her kindness and care.
