
David Hart Muskat, aka "Dirty Dave" passed away on March 15th 2026 in Ventura California. He was 88 years old. David was born is Sunland California to Paul Herman and Bernice Ora Muskat on April 17 1937. He went on to graduate from Santa Monica High School in 1955.
Out of high school David went into the United States Air Force where he was trained in electronics and radar maintenance. After leaving the Air Force, David worked many jobs including at Northrop, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, RCA, and then had a long career with the US Navy at Pt. Mugu.
During David's 30 year tenure at Pt. Mugu, he was a project manager working on the integration of GPS into missile systems. He held a joint patent with the US Navy integrating talking GPS to cellular phones with an application to recover lost drones at sea. David truly enjoyed working with all his coworkers at the Navel Base. He also met his second wife of 38 years at Pt. Mugu.
In Dave's free time, he enjoyed being the ultimate handyman and could fix almost anything. Many of his friends often called upon him for his help and he could never say no. His garage was filled with so many specialty tools one would think he was a building contractor.
David is survived by his wife Belia (Vel) of 38 years. He had three children, William Alfred Muskat, Michael Richard Muskat, and Susan Beth Muskat-Nelson. David is also preceded in the death of his first wife and mother of his children, Nina Susan Muskat-Smith. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and three desert tortoises.
