Surrounded by her siblings who loved her and with the strength and grace she exemplified throughout her lifetime of illness, Carol A. Soucy Miller peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 17 at UMass Memorial Hospital. Carol was born a tiny almost 4lb baby on August 3, 1954 daughter of Gerald W. and M. Dorise (Collette) Soucy and was a lifelong resident of Worcester, MA. She graduated from Holy Name High School in 1972. While in high school, she began her one and only job with AT&T. She worked for them until her retirement due to illness in the early eighties. During her time there she established herself as a labor aficionado and for many years was the President of the Worcester IBEW Local a job she was committed to and did with passion. She had a very strong work ethic, sense of right and wrong and fought hard for the working man.
Carol married the love of her life, Walter Miller on October 3, 1999 and shared many happy years together until Walter was diagnosed with the terrible disease of Alzheimer’s. Carol became his constant and dedicated caregiver giving 100% of herself to his care and wellbeing. Until her final breath, he was her uppermost concern.
Carol was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Gerald and Dorise Soucy. She leaves her sister, Linda Soucy of Holden, her brothers Gerald Soucy Jr and his wife Patricia of Auburn; David Soucy and his wife MaryBeth of Worcester and Paul Soucy and his wife Donna of Westerly, RI. She also leaves her beloved granddaughters Emily and Meghan Connelly and she was the very, very proud and loving aunt of seven nieces and nephews, Amy, Gerry, Nicole, Brian, Erica, Elaina and her beloved godchild Faelynn who was her shining star and the love of her life. She took her role as godmother very seriously. She was also the loving great auntie to ten of the most incredible great nieces and nephews in the world, Jacob, Mia, Nick, Hazel, Maggie, Tommy, Ryan, Evan, Madalyn and Liam. Following their lives and adventures gave her pleasure every day.
