Obituary

FRANKLIN ---- Bryce Patrick Carey, 54, of River Street, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Bryce was born on March 17, 1972, in Overland, Missouri, and is predeceased by his parents Edward and Dorothy (Morgan) Carey.

In his younger years, Bryce had a love for sports that began in Little League and continued through his time in high school at Laconia Christian Academy. His passion for athletics stayed with him throughout his life, and in recent years he found great enjoyment working as a softball umpire, something he truly loved. Bryce also had a strong interest in car stereos, which led him to start Loud N’ Clear, a car stereo business he ran in the 1990s with a close friend. For a time, he also ran a construction business with his brother, and after work you could often find the two of them out on the men’s softball field together. In more recent years he spent time helping friends and family open and close their pools.

Bryce was a protective, strong, and dependable father, brother and son. He cherished spending time with family and being together on the weekends. Bryce was known for being someone his family could count on. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and took pride in being able to build whatever was needed, especially when it was for those he loved. This past summer he built a backyard clubhouse for his niece and nephew, and it will always be a special reminder of him. Bryce found joy in taking care of the people around him, his strength, loyalty, and love for family will never be forgotten.

Bryce always had a love for fishing, from the Mississippi River to the coast of Maine. One of his favorite places to be at was Head Beach Campground in Phippsburg, Maine where you could find him and Kaitlyn fishing off the rocks, riding around in the golf cart, and spending time by the water.

Bryce is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn Carey and her partner Rory Keverline, siblings, Angela Carey and her partner Marc Duncan, Justin Carey and his wife Kristen, April Bryson and her husband Frank, Sara Smith and her partner Russ Coutu, Nicolas Carey and his wife Sam, and Ian O’Brien. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Bruce, Patrick, Caleb, Ryan, Payton, Riley, Maximus and Charlotte. In addition to his parents, Bryce was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William and Dorothy Morgan.

Above all, Bryce was an incredibly proud father. His daughter, Kaitlyn, was his world, and the love he had for her was undeniable.
