
James Charles Jackson, 78, of Cordele passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Jackson at a date and time to be announced later.
Born December 18, 1947, in Colquitt County, Mr. Jackson was the son of the late James Columbus “J. C.” Jackson and Betty Margaret Lawson Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Smith; two brothers, Steve Paul Jackson, and a premature brother; and one granddaughter. He retired from the Sanitation Department for the City of Omega and was also employed at Sanders’ Chicken in Camilla. His favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his significant other, Judy Addison; three daughters, Nancy Jackson of Norfolk, Virginia, Tina Moore and Elizabeth Povise, both of MacClenny, Florida; three brothers, Bobby Jackson of Seale, Alabama, Dale Jackson of Cocoa, Florida and Tim Jackson of Tifton; five sisters, Sarah Harris and Margie Bennett, both of Omega, Raye Jean Hall of Ocilla, Annette Stillwell of Sycamore and Rhonda Simmons of Berrien County; several grandchildren; and his dog, Maggie.
