Howard Woodrow Tucker, 85, of Ty Ty passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Mr. Tucker will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church Ty Ty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Austin Tucker, James Cox, Matthew Tucker, Dustin Tucker, Dale Tucker and Taylor Garces will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 23, 1940, in Berrien County, Mr. Tucker was the son of the late Homer Woodrow Tucker and Lila Mae Vaughn Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Crawford Tucker, Tim Tucker, J. P. Tucker and Vaughn Tucker; and one sister, Delores Jean Bennett. Before retiring, he was a CDL Instructor at Moultrie Technical College. He was the owner of H & L Welding Service and had formerly worked for Arnold Trucking Company as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Marie Davis Tucker of Ty Ty; two sons, Anthony Howard Tucker and Daniel David Tucker, both of Ty Ty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana Faith and Michael O’Hara of Brookfield and Senida Gonzalez and Daniel Torres of Tifton; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Helen Tucker, Dewey and Charlene Tucker, all of Tifton, Richard and Joan Tucker and Joe Tucker, all of Ty Ty, Billy and Pam Tucker of Cairo and John and Barbara Tucker of Norman Park; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Idell and Rico Alcantara of Brunswick, Odell Briones of Jacksonville, Florida, Kathy and Freddy Davis and Donie Tucker, all of Tifton and Lorene and Emory Wood of Nahunta; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Taylor Garces of Tifton, Briana and Jordan Coffield of Brookfield, Levi Gonzalez, McKenzie O’Hara and Raylan Torres, all of Tifton and Jasper Smith-Tucker and Aurora Smith-Tucker, both of Ty Ty; and three great-grandchildren, Bentley Garces, Judsyn Garces and Harper Coffield.
