George A. Asali Sr.
March 31, 1959 – March 4, 2026
GORHAM- George A. Asali Sr., 66, of Gorham, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with bone cancer. Born in Portland on March 31, 1959, George was the beloved son of the late Albert Asali Sr. and Joyce “Diddy” Asali.
A proud graduate of PRVTC and Deering High School’s Class of 1977, George went on to attend SMVTI, where he studied auto mechanics. He spent more than 40 years doing what he loved—working as a mechanic and helping others keep their wheels turning. Known for his skill with engines and his unshakable work ethic, George took pride in a job well done and never hesitated to lend a hand.
George lived life with passion and generosity. He found joy riding motorcycles, building and restoring classic cars, attending car shows, shooting at the range, or digging in the dirt with his tractor. But most of all, he loved being surrounded by family and friends. If you knew George, you knew his quick wit, endless stories, and big heart. To be George’s friend was to be family—he would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket without a second thought.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and partner who made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
George was predeceased by his parents, Albert Sr. and Joyce Asali, and his brothers, Joseph and Andrew Asali.
He is survived by his sons, Albert Asali (and his companion Nicole Webber), George Asali Jr. (and his wife Stacy Cadorette Asali) and daughter in-law Susan Moody; his siblings Rosie Harris, Kathy Dall, Albert Asali Jr., and Barbara Asali; his longtime partner, Trudy Little; his stepsons Joshua Little (and his wife Amanda) and Scott Little (and his wife Shauna); and his cherished grandchildren—Kody, Keghan, Natalya, Nathalie, Gavin, Mckenzie, Brayden, Mateiah, Larissa, and Connor—who brought him endless pride and joy.
A graveside service will be held later this summer to celebrate George’s life and the love he shared so freely.
He will be forever missed—but his laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In George’s own words, “Go easy.”
