
Joseph Paul Gulla, 73, of Whitinsville formerly of Sharon and Ayer died February 24 at his home. He was the husband of the late Christine M. (Pettipas) Gulla who died in 2002.
Born in Everett, September 28, 1952, the son of the late John A. and Lena L. (Trigilio) Gulla, Joseph was raised in Malden and had lived in Sharon and Ayer prior to moving to Whitinsville two years ago.
Joseph was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston with a major in psychiatry and minor in math.
He had been a Database Administrator for Bank of New York Mellon.
Joe enjoyed taking his beloved dog, Millie, to the dog park, taking his grandson Nolan to breakfast at Jumbo donuts, and cooking Italian food. He was a history and philosophy buff and loved to talk about current events and politics. He loved spending time with his daughter and son-in-law and other grandson Luke.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah Tuffo and her husband Anthony of Franklin.
He is also survived by his brother James Gulla of Chelsea and his grandsons,
Luke Joseph and Nolan Anthony Tuffo.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon
Calling hours will be on Monday, March 2 for 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Donations may be made in his memory to the American Civil Liberties Union. Joseph also wanted to make sure eligible voters was registered and voting.
