SUSAN PATRICIA GIBSON
Susan P. (Rogers) Gibson, 71, of Maynard, Massachusetts, died unexpectedly on January 17, 2026, at Emerson Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 29, 1954, in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Eugene and Shirley (Morse) Rogers of Waltham.
Susan graduated from Waltham High School and attended Lasell Junior College, where she earned her associate degree in nursing. She later graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Susan worked as a registered nurse at Newton-Wellesley Hospital for 25 years.
She retired early to care for her beloved special-needs son, Philip E. Gibson, devoting herself to him with unwavering love and compassion. Susan was an avid lover of animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed gardening and needlepoint. Above all, she cherished her children and family.
Susan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Philip M. Gibson, with whom she lived in Maynard for the past 40 years; her daughter, Ashley A. Gibson of Maynard; her sons, Philip E. Gibson of Maynard and Christopher M. Gibson of Marlborough; her sister, Judith Hall and her husband Wayne of Sudbury; her brother, Jeffrey Rogers and his wife Jean of Northborough; grandchild, Annabella Sarris of Reading; one niece, Julie Rogers and two nephews, Steven and Michael Rogers.
A private burial service was held at Glenwood Cemetery in Maynard.
