Sheila Turner, 59, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, February 20, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner was born December 28, 1966, in Alma, Georgia, to Carlis Lee Barber and the late Shirley Williams Barber. She was a 1985 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and worked for over 20 years for Modern Fibers, later known as Shaw Industries. Mrs. Turner enjoyed traveling to the beach or mountains and enjoyed spending time cooking and gathering with her family. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. She attended Ocilla Church of God.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, John Turner; son, Wesley Turner (Kelli); daughter, Kaitlynn Turner (Andrew); grandchildren: Lynlee Ford, Avery Bryan, Johnson Bryan, Rylan Bryan, Ryder Bryan, Elli Ash, and Molli Griffin; brother, Greg Barber (Kim); sisters: Debbie Neal (Keith) and Donna Barber Brabham; brother and sister laws: Teresa (Carrol) Cato and Terry (Penny) Turner. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law; John and Bonnie Turner; brother in laws: Jeffery Turner and Jeff Brabham.
