
Jean Yves Arnel Thevenin, affectionately known as “Ti Papit,” passed away on Saturday February 14, 2026.
Jean Yves was born on February 15, 1977, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Jean Arnel Thevenin of Croix-des-Bouquets and the late Marie Carmelle Apolon of Jacmel.
Jean Yves was a calm and peaceful man, known for his loving heart and generous spirit. He carried himself with quiet strength and kindness, touching the lives of many who knew him.
Jean was the loving husband of Madlyne Fils and the beloved father of Nelyves Thevenin and Xavier Thevenin. He was also the former husband of Marie Nadia Paul. Jean Yves was a loving brother to Mario Dessources, the late Vivaldy Thevenin, Didier Thevenin, Christelle Francois, Soeurlyne Armand, Charlene Dessaps, Marly Brutus, and Kedlyne Delyon: cherished nephew of Leonce Apolon, Jean Robert Apolon, Wilbert Thevenin, Greta Apolon, Marie Jean Charles, Kedna Apolon, Gabrielle Thevenin, and Francesca Thevenin. Jean Yves also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will deeply mourn his passing and forever cherish his memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Saturday February 28, 2026 from 8-9 AM followed by a Religious Service from 9-11 AM in the Church of Latter Day Saints, 70 Carlson Ave, Newton Center, MA. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Ave, Hyde Park, MA.
