John Wayne Avery, 38, of Sylvester, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Rev. Lowell Brock will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. John Bennett, Jr., Doug Conn, Nicky Willey, Derrick Wiley, Lance Jackson and Joe Griner will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Avery was born on May 18, 1968 in Tift County and was the son of Wayne Avery and Judy Wood Avery, both deceased. He was disabled.
Mr. Avery is survived by two brothers, Craig DeWayne Avery of Sylvester and Jonathan Conley Avery of Sylvester; two sisters, Kathy Marie Avery of Albany and Connie Ann Avery of Sylvester; an aunt and uncle, Narce and Jeannette Avery of Sylvester; a cousin, Joyce Bennett and her husband of Sylvester; two nieces, Brianna Bennett and Desiree Bennett; and two nephews, Timothy Avery and Craig Guy.
