WORCESTER- Mr. Robert E. Palmieri, 77, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born June 8, 1948, in Worcester, Massachusetts, a son of the late Stephen and Sophie (Conti) Palmieri.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Robert was educated through the Worcester Schools. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Education from UMass Amherst and a master’s degree in criminology from Anna Maria College.
He worked as a probation officer for over thirty years retiring in recent years. He went on to teach Criminology at Becker Community College, Fitchburg State University and Wachusett Community College.
Bob was an avid golfer playing at Wachusett’s C.C., Greenhill Golf Course and he was a member at the Holden C.C. for many years. He loved and followed all the local sports teams both watching and attending games over the years. The Celtics were his favorite team, but he also followed the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots.
He loved to cook and worked at nights at Harpers Bizarre in Worcester, where he introduced table-side cooking. Bob enjoyed life and cooking for his friends at the restaurant and for private functions.
He is survived by his daughter Elise Palmieri, his loving brother who helped with his health care over the past several years, former city councilor, Philip Palmieri and his wife Maria; two nieces, Alexandra Rivera Palmieri, Cheryl Palmieri along with her children, and cousin Mike Marzo, and many friends in the community.
His funeral mass will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Our Lady of Loreto- Mt Carmel Church 33 Massasoit Rd Worcester at 10:30am. Visiting hour will be in the church from 9:30am to 10:30am.
