Auburn – Carmen S. (Rodriguez) Bartkus, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Saint Vincent Hospital.
Carmen was the beloved wife of the late Michael Bartkus, who passed away in 2008. She leaves behind her loving children: Eduardo Fonseca of Leominster, Joanne Fonseca of Auburn, Jose Rodriguez of Worcester, Quianna Rodriguez of Worcester, Tasheena LaLiberte of Worcester, and Tara Grimes of Ashford, CT; her brother, Cesar Cordero of Worcester; 13 cherished grandchildren, Kayla, William, Nathan, Dominic, Tatiana, Hailey, Neveah, Jordan, Michael, Christian, Azala, Iyanna, and Jesus; two adored great-grandchildren, Miko and David; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jose Rodriguez and Auera Medina; her sister, Jasmine Cordero; and her brother, Luis Rodriguez.
Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Carmen carried her culture, warmth, and strength with her throughout her life. She was a talented cake decorator who poured creativity and love into everything she made. Above all else, she treasured her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Carmen had a heart of gold and was often the one others turned to for guidance, comfort, and wisdom. She found peace in nature, loved spending time at the beach, and cherished the simple joy of riding alongside her husband on his Harley Davidson.
A calling service for Carmen will be held on Sunday, February 22,2026 from 1 to 3 PM at the Dirsa - Morin Memorial Chapel 298 Grafton Street Worcester. Burial will take place at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
