Darlene Coley Hancock, 68, of Adel, Georgia, passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, February 16, 2026, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Hancock was born July 4, 1957, in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Edsel Coley & Shirley McNeill Coley. She was a 1975 graduate of Irwin County High School where she proudly performed as a majorette. She attended ABAC and earned an associate degree from IADT. She was a published author in contemporary romance and was currently working on another novel. Mrs. Hancock loved animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed riding motorcycles and her Polaris buggy as well as visiting the beach and the farmers market. She dearly loved her grandson and all the things about being his Nana. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Randy Hancock of Adel; sons: Brandon & Brittany Harper of Adel and Mathew Tyce Hancock of Adel; her beloved grandson, Grayson Harper; and her sister, Dee Harper of Ocilla; and nieces: Sara, Leslie and Kristin.
To honor her life, the family suggests guests wear casual attire for the graveside.
