
Mr. Charles F. Hurley, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of Marie J. (Donovan) Hurley, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Thursday evening, January 29, 2026. He was 88 years old.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, on May 9, 1937, Charles was the beloved son of the late Randall and Mary (Chisholm) Hurley.
Mr. Hurley was a US Air Force veteran. He had been employed as an Operating Engineer and was a member of Local 4, Boston.
Charles loved to travel, taking his cherished truck on many adventures. He had a great talent for construction and masonry, and was always eager to share his skills with others. Charles had a keen interest in US history, and was especially fond of studying the events and ideals of his beloved country. In his spare time, he loved to support all of the Boston sports teams. Charles will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie, he is survived by his three loving children; Mary Irene Hurley of Hartland, Wisconsin, Catherine A. and her husband Peter Stelzner of Kennebunk, Maine and Charles A. and his wife Sherry Hurley of Mooresville, North Carolina, siblings; Daniel J. Hurley of Andover, Helen and her husband Jonathan Taylor of Epsom, New Hampshire and Maureen and her husband Dr. John Kidd of Largo, Florida, grandchildren; Leah, Alyssa, Jake, Shannon, Cole, Vanessa and Faith, great-grandchildren; Kael, Maeve and Annorah and many nieces and nephews. Charles was also the loving brother of the late William Hurley and Randall Hurley.
His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA via a private ceremony at a later date.
