
Mary Louise (Walsh) LeClaire, 72, of Worcester died Thursday, February 5th in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence surrounded by her family. She leaves her husband of 48 years, Mark S. LeClaire; her son, Matthew M. LeClaire and his wife, Caroline of Worcester and their children, Lorelei, Jacob, and Nora; her daughter, Michelle M. Amorelli and her husband, Karl of Dudley and their daughter, Miah; a brother, James Walsh; sister-in-law, Kathleen Walsh; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Mark Walsh; and a sister, Margaret Walsh.
She was born in Weymouth the daughter of Richard and Violet (Dexter) Walsh and earned her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Framingham State College and went on to work as a medical technologist for many years. Mary took great pride in her work and the care she provided to others. She retired in 2018 from UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, where she had served for ten years with commitment and professionalism.
Mary was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Outside of work, she found peace and happiness in Maine, especially at her beloved cottage, where she delighted in watching loons and enjoying the beauty of nature. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she looked forward to celebrating it each year with enthusiasm and spirit.
She enjoyed watching cooking shows, reading Stephen King novels, playing solitaire, and listening to her favorite music—from Metallica to Queen. A lifelong animal lover, Mary had a special place in her heart for Labrador retrievers.
Above all else, Mary cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. They were the greatest joy of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Her visitation will be Wednesday, February 11th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11:00 A.M. IN Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
