Robert George Greene, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family and his lifelong friend Jim, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 6, 1955, in Cambridge, Robert was the son of the late George Greene and the late Mary (Massa) Greene. He grew up in Tewksbury, where he was educated and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1973. While he had been a resident of Lowell in recent years, much of his life was spent on Shawsheen Street in Tewksbury, a place filled with many memories.
Robert dedicated much of his working life to shipping and receiving. He was employed at Compugraphics, later Agfa, in Wilmington for over 30 years, and later worked at Cabot Corporation in Billerica for 15 years before retiring. He took pride in his work and valued the friendships he made along the way.
A lifelong sports fan, Robert loved watching games and listening to sports on the radio. In his younger years, he played hockey and softball through high school and later participated in the DAV softball league. He was also a certified scuba diver. Over the years, he enjoyed competing in several billiards leagues and spending time playing cribbage with friends.
Above all else, Robert treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Sharing a meal with family and friends was where he was happiest. A fan of The Three Stooges and Charlie Brown, Robert truly was a kid at heart, with a sense of humor and warmth that stayed with him throughout his life.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Nichole Remillard of Lowell, and Alyssa Greene and her companion Ricardo Rosado, also of Lowell. He leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Xavier Santana, Lily Mae Dunton, Justin Dunton, Jr., Emma Dunton, Camden Dunton, Xander Gonzalez, and Romeo Rosado. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Erika and Keith Hebert; his sisters, Carol Ann Greene and Lisa Marie Greene, both of Tewksbury; his nephew, Kyle Greene and wife, Chelsea of Salem, NH; his great nephews, Cameron Greene and Jackson Greene of Salem, NH; and many longtime dear friends in the Lowell and Tewksbury area, among those friends was his longtime best friend and “partner in crime,” Ricky “Smiley” Russell of Lowell.
You are welcome to attend his memorial visitation on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11am until 2pm at the Tewksbury Funeral Home 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA. His funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 2pm.
