
Lorenzo V. “Al” Giguere Jr., 94, of Windham, NH passed away on January 30, 2026 at the Warde Health Center in Windham following a period of declining health. Al was born in Laconia, NH December 9, 1931, a son of the late Lorenzo V. Giguere Sr. and Theresa (Martineau) Giguere. He had resided in the Londonderry area for 40 years, formerly living in Bristol and Hartford, CT.
Al served in the Army as a corporal. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his family and who opened his home to many over the years. He had a tough childhood, and vowed to make sure that his family would not go through what he had. He succeeded spectacularly. He worked for the postal service before spending many years as a builder, specializing in exterior sidings. He built his company, Giguere and Sons, which later included all four of his sons. Later, he moved to New Hampshire and opened Countryside Florist, a family based flower shop.
During his life, he enjoyed family time, travel, golf, puzzles, cheering on the New England sports teams - especially the Red Sox. He was a man of Faith, attending St Mark’s Church in Londonderry, teaching religious education there for over 20 years. He was also a Knight of Columbus. He had a strong energy and an excellent sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of one day shy of 73 years, Phyllis (Doran) Giguere of Windham, NH, three children, Michelle Peabody and her husband David of Summerfield, FL, David Giguere and his wife Jill of Bristol, CT, James Giguere and his wife Karlene of Derry, NH, and daughter-in-law Barbara Giguere of Manchester, NH, 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, and one brother, Brian Giguere and his wife Maureen of E. Hartford, CT. He was predeceased by three children, Katherine Pond, Stephen Giguere, and Joseph Giguere, as well as his brother, Edward “Ted” Giguere.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday February 5, 2026 from 4 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30am at St. Matthew’s Parish, 2 Searles Rd., Windham with cremation to follow. The family would like to thank the Warde Senior Living staff for the outstanding care they provided.
