Obituary

Mary Nelson Ingram, 53, of Alapaha, died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Pastor Ricky Griner will officiate with a private family interment to follow in a family cemetery. Michael Baker, Melvin Waycaser, Willard Ingram, John Baron and Henry Hatley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Cody, Gerald Sumner, David Brewer, Ken Harper and Hayward Fowler. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Ms. Ingram was born on August 23, 1953 in Moultrie and was the daughter of Arthur Lee Nelson, deceased, and Fannie L. Tillman Nelson of Ellenton. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Judy Baker. She was a convenience store owner and manager and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Ingram is survived by her husband, Lynwood Marshall Ingram of Alapaha; three sons, Christopher Baker of Milledgeville, Jody Johnson of Tifton and Michael Johnson of Alapaha; four brothers, Donald Nelson of Ellenton, Ray Nelson of Adel, David Nelson of Alapaha and Leonard Nelson of Ellenton; two sisters, Ann Goza of Tampa, Florida and Jane Palmer of Camilla; and five grandchildren, Justin Parks, Brittney Johnson, Alana Johnson, Cameron Johnson and Peyton Johnson.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Humane Society of your choice or the Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch.
