Obituary

On Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, our beloved Mother Odile Verdier passed away at the age of 82. Born in Abacou, Haiti, Odile was the cherished daughter of Benjamin and Gelia Verdier, and the loving, precious sister of Denis and Wiener Verdier. Raised in a devoted Christian family, she grew up in a home where faith, integrity, and compassion were the pillars that shaped her character.

She married her Prince Charming, the late Belony Caton, on December 23rd, 1967 and together they built a large and loving family. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Serge, Paul-Denis, Judelande, and Noberta as well as her adopted children: Rose Marie, Nancy, Medgine, Judelande, and Jédilia. To each of them, she passed on a precious legacy of love, Christian faith, and the noblest values of human life. Her greatest gift to her children, grandchildren and friends will forever be the sacred art of loving without condition and rising with grace after every trial. She carried an unshakable faith, gently reminding us that, “God does not give you a challenge you cannot overcome”.
