Obituary

Susan M. Curtis (Reale), 81, Daughter to the late, John J. Reale and Maria (Mary) Reale, passed away in her home, with her Children by her side on Friday, January 16, 2026. Susan was born in Cambridge MA at the Cahill House in 1944. Although an only child, she grew up surrounded by many cousins that were like siblings to her.
Susan moved to Tewksbury when she was 12 years old. In her High School years, 'Suzie' was a popular girl with a twinkle in her eye and a warm, beautiful smile that captured the hearts of many. She later entered the Miss Tewksbury Pageant and won the title. Although she didn't get crowned Miss Massachusetts, she was honored with winning Miss Congeniality, with her adoring Parents by her side.

Susan was a beautiful person, inside and out, having a wonderful sense of humor, and touching all who knew her.
Susan worked for Raytheon right out of High School. Her Father kept half her pay to contribute to the cost of her future wedding. That wedding was to Thomas Nolan (predeceased) with whom she had three children: Willam John (predeceased), Gina Marie and Thomas Scott Nolan. They resided on Shawsheen Street, just a stone throw from her parent's house. In the mid 70's she met and married her second Husband, Harold Curtis (predeceased) who moved her to Stafford Springs, CT, where she had her fourth child, Suzanne Leigh Curtis. Although Susan was miles away from her Family and Friends, she would remain very close to all of them throughout her life. In addition, she made many new friends that she held very dear to her heart and shared many years of friendship with.

Susan loved plants, her favorites being African violets and gardenias, which flourished on shelves in her home, guided by her green thumb.
She loved her home and loved decorating it, especially for Christmas, surrounding herself with the decor of the Holiday, sometimes year-round. She loved to express her feelings to her loved ones through greeting cards. She loved receiving cards even more, displaying them throughout her house as if she was surrounding herself with love.

Susan was a fashionista and loved to get dressed up, whether it be for a gathering, dinner out or later in life, professionally with her Husband Hal. She carried herself with grace, elegance and beauty and turned heads when she walked into a room.

Susan was an adoring 'Nanna' to all her Grandchildren: Christopher Burns, Cameron Nolan, Montana Millix, Evan Cormier, Bryce Cormier, Caydence Cormier and Jaxton Cormier with whom she loved to spend time with every chance she could. Christopher was her first grandchild, and she loved to dress him up and take him to church with her every Sunday to her favorite parish, St. Edward's Church.

Susan was an outstanding example of kindness, thoughtfulness and love to her Children and Grandchildren and will be deeply and forever missed by them all.

Later in her life Susan was predeceased by her beloved Son, 'Billy' and never fully recovered from the heartbreak of losing him. She looked forward to the day that she would be reunited with him in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
Susan touched so many people every day, without even knowing it. Her friendly, kind and warm spirit will never be forgotten. Her beautiful face will always be remembered.
