Minor A. Kent, Jr., 66 of Cuthbert, died Wednesday, September 6 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, September 9, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. J.W. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Kent was born September 6, 1940, in Cary, North Carolina, to the late Minor A. Kent and the late Jane Martin Kent Farmer. He lived in Cuthbert for the past five years, where he attended Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. Kent served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver and former owner/operator of the I-75 & US 82 Tifton Truck Stop.
Mr. Kent is survived by his children: Regina Dickens and David Kent, both of Ocilla; and Jimmy Kent of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren; brothers: John Wayne Kent of Elba, AL, Jerry Eugene Kent of Tifton and Stanley Curtis Kent of Ty Ty; sister: Martha J. Gibbs of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Hendley.
