
Mabel “Betty” Kaye, 104, of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 in the Stillwater Assisted Living Community, Greenville. She was the wife of the late Warren A. Kaye. They had been married for 35 years.
Born in Johnston, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Laprade) Taudvin. She previously resided in Johnston living on Greenville Avenue.
Betty had graduated from Central High School in 1937 and was employed by the Outlet Co. in Providence prior to dedicating herself to her family as a homemaker. An active member of Belknap Community Church, she exemplified kindness and compassion in her interactions with others. Her interests included gardening, cooking, knitting, and craft making.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Warren Alfred Kaye. She is survived by her children: Robert B. Kaye of Cranston, Carol E. Morin and Warren S. Kaye of Johnston; daughters-in-law Evelyn Kaye and Elizabeth Kaye; and predeceased son-in-law Henri Morin. Her grandchildren include Holly (Robert) Bennett, Scott (Sue) Morin, Lisa Kaye, Dina Kaye, Morgan Kaye, and Nathan Kaye. Great-grandchildren are Ryan (Taylor Nicholas) Morin, Amanda (Michael) Gibbons, and Jillian Bennett; her great-great-grandchildren are Cora and Colson Gibbons. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel Taudvin, and her sister Gloria Ray of Dallas, TX.
A memorial service will be held on January 17, 2026, at 1pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm.
