
Alfonso Todesca, of Medford, formerly of the North End of Boston and Avellino Italy, December 27th. Beloved husband of 52 years of Luisa (Crugnale) Todesca. Loving father of Michelle Polston and her husband Michael of Malden. Cherished grandfather of Mia and Shayla Polston. Dear brother of Angela Todesca and her husband Umberto DiCristoforo of Italy and Annibale Todesca and his wife Cody of Salem, NH. Loving uncle of Nicola and Michael Todesca and their families of Salem, NH. Beloved son of the late Nicola and Maria Orsola (Bevilacqua) Todesca. He is also lovingly survived by several cousins and family members and friends both in the United States and Italy. Alfonso immigrated to the United States as a young man. He met the love of his life, Luisa in 1972 and married soon after. In 1975 they welcomed their only daughter Michelle. They lived in the North End of Boston before moving to Medford where they have been residents for over 45 years. Alfonso was a proud member of Union Local 4 and The Longshoreman's Union where he worked as a crane operator, welder, and mechanic. He worked for Polarizer for many years and retired from Albanese Brothers. Alfonso was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends. Alfonso and Luisa attended Italian concerts and dinner dances, and loved to dance the night away. As a grandfather Alfonso from the moment Mia and Shayla came into his life, the love for them was infinite. Alfonso was there every step of the way, from teaching them how to swim, ride bikes, he was their biggest cheerleader, proud of every accomplishment. He and Luisa enjoyed traveling locally as well as abroad, most especially the trips they made to Disney World with their granddaughters Mia and Shayla. He enjoyed these family vacations to Disney, especially the fireworks, riding the rides, character dinners and making memories by always joining in on the fesitivities. Michelle his daughter will greatly miss her father, and forever be reminded of him everytime she hears Neapolitan love songs because of all the time they spent together listening to music and singing along. Alfonso and his son-in-law Michael had a great respect for eachother, a quiet relationship built on trust and understanding, two men who worked together running the family and keeping all four women happy. Alfonso referred to Michael as "The General" and Michael referred to Alfonso as " Fonzi". Alfonso is loved and will be greatly missed by his family. Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday January 2nd from 8-10 AM followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with Entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
