Josiah James Hutto, 34, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died surrounded by his loving parents on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his residence in Winder, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with his uncle, Pastor Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Sunday in the sanctuary
Josiah was born January 28, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Otis and Janice Davis Hutto. Throughout his life, Josiah battled countless medical battles and endured many extended hospital stays. With each one, his family by his side. Josiah was known to light up a room and he never met a stranger. In his early childhood Josiah set the precedent for shattering boundaries by competition weightlifting. Following that, Josiah remained active outdoors by attending many hunts around various parts of the country and even Canada. Although Josiah was physically bound by a wheelchair, his family traveled all over allowing Josiah to experience more than most. An avid Purple Hurricane, Josiah was a beloved member of the football team for many years. Most recently, Josiah had become an avid RC Pilot alongside his father and enjoyed spending time at the air field and his beloved Scenic RC Flyer buddies.
Growing up at Ocilla Church of God Josiah was an active member in the youth and drama team. In his young adult years, Josiah was an active member of Open Gates Ministry and even attended Free Chapel after moving to Winder. Although he faced many battles with his health, his faith was never shaken.
Josiah loved hard and cared deeply for everybody he knew. He made sure to reach out and check on everyone even on the days he wasn’t feeling well. He was the true definition of a friend and a Godly man.
He is survived by his loving parents, Otis and Janice Hutto of Winder, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Jana and Justin Graham; nephew, Jase Graham; numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his siblings Alex and Tiffany Hutto; grandparents, Ednora and Jack Davis as well as Hubert and Arlene Hutto; and uncles, Al Davis and Gerald Hutto.
