
Robert Michael Blum, 55, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Englewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. The family will greet friends following the services.
Robert was born June 6, 1970, in Hollywood, Florida, to the Thomas J. Blum and the late Delores Ann Arthur Gills. Delores later married Peter “Pops” Gills, who became a father to Robert. Robert worked for Wood Group Mustang on the Dakota Access Pipeline in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he lost his big toe. He retired from Service One Transport as a multi-million-mile driver, frequently seen in his lime green, chromed out, straight pipe, flat top, long nose, Peter Built. Robert loved to fish, smoke brisket and drag race cars and motorcycles. He worked for McClelland Speed Shop in Fitzgerald. He was a very charitable person who never met a stranger and was always a phone call away. Robert was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
In addition to his father and step-father, he is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Scott & Amanda Blum, Jason Blum, Gary Gills, James & Brooke Gills and Jennifer Hall; nieces and nephews: Mitchell Hall, Landon Hall, Bailey Blum, Trinity Durham, Wesley Gills, Hunter McCook, Jase Thompson, Scott Blum, Jr., Wyatt Blum, Joshua Blum, Josiah Blum, Iree-Kate Blum, Finley Gills and Sage Gills; uncles: Mike Arthur and Mark Blum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theo & Edna Arthur.
