Obituary

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Cronin, 87, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Montague City, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Albee. Betty spent many of her early years in Boston, where she was affectionately known as “Betty Anne” to all who knew her. She later made her home in Franklin, where she resided for more than 50 years and built a life rooted in community, friendship, and family.

Betty worked at the Clark-Cutler-McDermott Company for nearly 30 years, remembered for her strong work ethic, reliability, and the genuine kindness she extended to her colleagues.

Outside of work, Betty enjoyed many simple pleasures. She loved local dining and was known throughout town as a true “Townie,” always recognizing a familiar face. She spent many happy hours bowling, gathering with friends, traveling, and enjoying vacations with those closest to her. Above all, Betty cherished time with her family—the moments she held closest to her heart.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mortimer J. “Moe” Cronin, her son George Cronin, her daughter Maureen Barron, and her brothers John D. Albee and George “Buddy” Albee.

Betty is survived by her son Kevin Cronin and his wife Liz, and her sister Georgine “Sistie” Pollard. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Danielle Partlow, Eric Spellman, Raymond Barron III, Emily Barron, Joshua Cronin, and Patrick Cronin, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the steady, comforting presence she brought into the lives of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday, December 15th, at 9 AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, at 10 AM.

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday, December 14th, from 1–3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to The Franklin Food Pantry.
Betty’s family will forever hold close the love, strength, and joy she brought into their lives.
