Carolyn M. Valente, 73, of Lampasas, TX, died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. She was born in Presque Isle, ME on August 10, 1933, a daughter of the late Dana V. and Gwendolyn (Berryman) Tufts. She was a resident of Lampasas, TX for the past five years, formerly living in Manchester, NH and Londonderry, NH. Mrs. Valente enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards.
She is survived by two sons, Dana V. Valente of Atkinson, NH, and Michael Valente of Texas; one daughter, Gwendolyn “Wendy” Lussier of Oakland, TN; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Tufts of Lampasas, TX; three sisters, Joyce Hawes of Vermont, Gail Manning of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dawn Smith of Concord, NH; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen A. Valente who died in 1989.
Calling hours were on Wednesday, September 6th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 7th at 10:00am at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Rd., E. Derry, NH.
