Deborah M. (Sullivan) O’Brien, 80, of Mansfield and Marshfield formerly of Norwood died on Saturday August 26, 2006 at the Epoch Senior Health Care in Norton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Cornelius “Frank” O’Brien, Jr.
Born in Mansfield, MA on September 21, 1925 she was a loving daughter of the late Daniel and Helen (Leonard) Sullivan.
Educated in Mansfield she was a 1943 graduate of Mansfield High School; where she served as Class Secretary. She attended Boston University. Mrs. O’Brien was a private secretary having worked for the General Accident Insurance Co. in Boston for 27 years before retiring. She had formerly worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston for 14 years.
Deborah was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield; where she was also a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club. She loved the times spent with her family at her family’s beach cottage in Marshfield. She had lived in Mansfield for 55 years and had also lived in Norwood for 24 years. She was a longtime summer resident of Marshfield.
She was the dear sister of Robert B. Sullivan of Portland, Oregon and the late Eleanor F. D’Amico. Deborah is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews; Elaine Hall, Diane D’Amico, Brian Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan and Kathy McDonald.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday September 2nd at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday September 1st from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
