Obituary

Gusta (Waters) Weinreb, 95, of New Bedford died August 31, 2002 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Leopold Raber and the late Falk Weinreb.

Born in Krakow, Poland, the daughter of the late Emil and Adele (Goldberg) Waters, she lived in Vienna, Austria before escaping the Nazis in 1939 moving to England. She moved to New Bedford in 1966.

Mrs. Weinreb was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at a travel agency in Vienna.

Survivors include a son, John H. Raber and his wife Christine of Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren, Paul Raber of Belleville, Pennsylvania, Karen McPherson of Byhalia, Mississippi, and Anne Scully of Tucson, Arizona; a great-granddaughter, Sara Galindez of Tucson; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Denion Scully and Ashlyn Scully, both of Tucson; and her favorite niece, Ruth Strassner of San Francisco, CA.

Her private funeral service was held Wednesday, September 4th, in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
