NORTH CHELMSFORD—Eleanor A. (McNamara) Mahoney, 86 years old, a resident of North Chelmsford, and former resident of Medford and Belmont, died Friday afternoon at her home, due to complications from a lengthy battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Timothy J. Mahoney, who died in 1997.
She was born in Springfield, on September 4, 1919, a daughter of the late William and Esther (Fraser) McNamara and was a graduate of Belmont High School.
Mrs. Mahoney had been employed as a Secretary by several companies in Cambridge prior to her relocation to North Chelmsford.
Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law: David M. and Susanne Mahoney, of Woburn; two daughters and a son-in-law: Gail P. Mahoney, of Lowell; and Kathleen J. and Warren Mootrey, of Tewksbury; five grandchildren: Michael Mahoney; Lisa Mahoney, and her husband Peter Mancauskas; Janel, James and Meghan Mootrey; two nieces: Diane and Linda Sheehan, and a nephew: Michael Sheehan.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Monday August 28th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday, August 29th, at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, in Medford.
