Obituary

Arthur J. Vittorini of Bourne formerly of Dedham and Readville, passed away August 24, 2006 in Warwick, RI. He was 90. Mr. Vittorini was born in Boston in 1915 and was the son of the late Oreste and Gournata (Pagiaro) Vittorini. A World War II Veteran, he served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime Dedham resident and he worked as a Foreman for the Compressed Steel and Shafting Company of Hyde Park for many years. He was a member of the Dedham VFW Jacob Jones Post and the Dedham Knights of Columbus 234.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Holloway) Vittorini. He was the devoted father of Mary M. Esdale and her husband John F. of Warwick, RI, Diane Paciej of Dedham and the late Jean M. Vittorini. He also leaves five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of William Vittorini of Dedham, Della Bregoli of Readville and the late Henry and Orlando Vittorini and Silvia DeCampli.

His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 8:00 AM. His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
