Filadelfo A “Fred” Grasso, age 79 of Salem, NH, died Monday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Charles and Theresa Grasso. He was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 49 years.
He was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up and attended local schools. He earned a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Mr. Grasso was a retired engineer for Lucent Technologies. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran, serving during World War II. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved music, was a man of deep faith, and an avid sports fan. His biggest love was being a mentor for his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored more than life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Lucille (Frechette) Grasso of Salem, NH, 3 Daughters, Debbie & her husband Shawn Sullivan of Auburn, NH, Pamela Grasso of Londonderry, NH, and Nancy & her husband Christopher Sullivan of Raymond, NH, 1 Brother: Charles & his wife Jane Grasso of Bedford, NH, 5 Grandchildren: Justin, Taylor, Garrett, Shawn, & Danelle Sullivan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 28 at 10 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, Aug. 27 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
