Pauline (Hudson) Vickery, 84 of Pocasset formerly of Mansfield died on Monday August 21, 2006 at the Harbor Side Health Care Center in Falmouth, MA. She was the beloved wife of Bruce T. Vickery to whom she was wed to on June 12, 1941.
Born in St. John New Brunswick, Canada on December 26, 1921 she was a dear daughter of the late George D. and Blanche M. (Duncan) Hudson.
She was a 1939 graduate of Mansfield High School. Mrs. Vickery was a retired LPN having worked as an Admissions Director at the former Pondville Hospital in Norfolk for 10 years; retiring in 1967.
Pauline was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Singing Group and the Barnstable County Agricultural Society. She was an avid porcelain china painter and exhibitor. She enjoyed spending the past 25 winters in Florida, playing the organ and doing hair styling. Her most enjoyable times spent were those with her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pauline had made her home in Pocasset for the past 38 years and was a former 29 year resident of Mansfield.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 65 years; she is survived by her devoted sons David B. Vickery and his wife Sandra of Franklin and Ronald C. Vickery and his wife Sandra of Monument Beach. She is also survived by her cherished 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as her several nieces and nephews. Pauline was one of nine children and one of three sets of twins.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday August 26th at 10:00 A.M. in The First Baptist 52 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 25th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers Pauline’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Friends of Bourne Council on Aging 239 Main St. Buzzards bay, MA 02532
