Andover, MA – George J. Nader, 80, died unexpectedly August 21, 2006 at the Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, NY.
George, along with his friends went to Saratoga Downs race track every August and it had become a tradition with them.
Born in Lawrence, the son of Nimer G. Nader, and Sophie Hassan, Mr. Nader was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He went on to earn an Electrician’s License at Wentworth Technical Institute.
For many years he had been employed as a Supervisor with Western Electric known today as Lucent Technologies of North Andover.
In the United States Army he served his country before being honorably discharged
He was a member of Saint Anthony’s Maronite Church in Lawrence, as well as Saint Augustine’s Church in Andover.
In Methuen he was a Past Grand Knight with Methuen Council # 4027 and
Past District Deputy. George was still actively involved with the Knights of Columbus.
He recently joined the Elks of Salem, NH.
According to his family he enjoyed sports, and was a very good Ten Pin and Candlepin bowler for years.
The widower of Valencia (Camarra) Nader survivors include children; Wayne D. & his wife Susan Nader of Andover, and a daughter Rebecca A. & husband Robert Payne of Pennsylvania, grandchildren: David & Alicia Nader of Andover, and Carl, Sophie, and Spencer Payne of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 10 o’clock in St. Anthony’s Maronite Church of Lawrence with burial to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Methuen.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-8 P.M. at the Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
