Atkinson, NH - Kenneth P. Thompson, 87, of Atkinson, NH, and formerly from Andover, MA and Palm Harbor Florida died at home August 20, 2006.
He was born in Andover, MA, December 13, 1918, son of the late Hazel M. (Parsons) and Roland Thompson.
A graduate of Punchard High, Andover, MA Mr. Thompson attended Bentley College.
He served his country by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard.
His involvements included membership in St. Matthews Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Andover.
Served as past president of the greater Lawrence Kiwanis Club, and past president of Andover Chamber of Commerce, was a director of High Twelve of Highland Lakes in Palm Harbor, Florida, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies/Egypt Shriners of Tampa, Florida.
After returning to Palm Harbor, Florida where he was very active in the community he had been described as a wonderful man, with a wonderful spirit and disposition and always helpful to those he knew.
Kenneth was the widower of Ruth (Bean) Thompson, and is survived by children; Eleanor R. & son in law Sterling Page of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, Priscilla B. White and friend Patrick Sheehan of Haverhill, Alan K. Thompson & his wife Kathleen of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, Douglas W. Thompson & wife Diane of Hampstead, NH, and Nancy Barcelos & her husband George of Atkinson, NH, and his dear friend Sylvia Archer of Palm Harbor, Florida, a sister Shirley Waldron of Andover 12 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock from the Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen, MA and burial will follow in Tewksbury Center Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
